Code of practice
The Teachers TV Board of Governors is an Advisory non-Departmental Public Body. As such it is an independent body and not part of the Department for Children Schools and Families. The Board is accountable to the public and to Parliament via the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families. Board members must observe the standards and values of public service, including following the Seven Principles of Public Life as set out by the Nolan Committee. The Board has a Code of Practice which sets out the principles under which it will operate. In particular, the Board and its members must act openly, with impartiality, integrity and objectivity.
Board members are also required to publish a register of their interests and to declare any interests which might be in conflict with their role as a Governor. See the guidelines for declaring interests and the current register of interests for further information.
